Winners of $80m Powerball jackpot revealed

Three $1 coins and one $2 coin was all one woman needed to secure a share of a massive $80 million Powerball jackpot in Western Australia.
The winners were a syndicate of 55 women who all go to the same Perth gym, who will take home about $1.4 million each.
One of the women, Lorna, told 6PR she had only joined the syndicate in last-minute decision.
"At the gym a couple of days ago our leading lady that runs the gym said 'I think we should put in for Powerball, come on, $5 each'," she said.
"And I scraped a couple of coins together out of my parking ticket money, and ran back in and said 'oh, I just scraped that $5' she said 'right, you're in, you're on the list'."
Specifically, she said, her winning share was purchased with a trio of $1 coins and one $2 coin she found searching around her car.
Lorna said the rest of the group had found out at their Christmas party last night, which she'd been unable to attend - instead coming home late to a bunch of missed calls on her phone.
"I rang them back, and I said 'I hope you're ringing to tell me we've won Powerball' and she said 'yeah, we have!'" Lorna said.
"I said, 'don't toy with my emotions!'"
She joined them at the restaurant where the Christmas party had been held, joking that by the time she arrived, "all these crazy women" had "taken over".]
"I think I am still a little bit in shock, I haven't slept much," Lorna said.
"It's a very hard thing to take in."
She said the money would not only help out 43 families, but would help support those of the women who were running small businesses struggling during the pandemic.
The women attend Curves Gym in Beldon, in Perth's north, together.

The winning numbers in Powerball draw 1333 on Thursday, December 2, were 27, 30, 4, 5, 33, 26 and 19 and the Powerball was 8.

"This was the third $80 million Powerball draw of 2021. In April this year, two New South Wales players shared the $80 million jackpot walking away with $40 million each," The Lott spokesman Matt Hart said.
"And then in August, a North Melbourne dad scooped up $80 million when he held the only division one winning entry in that draw. He officially became Victoria's biggest lottery winner and the country's third biggest winner."
Lotterywest, which operates Powerball in WA, said it was the state's biggest ever lottery win, eclipsing a $50 million prize in 2015.
"We've re-written the history books for WA Lotto tonight with this incredible result," acting CEO Jeremy Hubble said.
"It also contributes to a fast-growing tally of Division One winners across the State in 2021 which has reached 64."
