Fake gunman oblivious to drama, police

A camouflage-clad man carrying a replica machine gun sparked a major security scare and the lockdown of two schools and a childcare centre when he went on a "training" mission in Brisbane's southside.
The drama began when a Rochedale resident called police, fearing a lone gunman could be at large.
Officers in bullet-proof vests launched a manhunt before finding and arresting the man within an hour just after midday.
Police said the shocked 26-year-old was seemingly oblivious to the widespread drama he had caused.
"He was clearly in the middle of doing some very serious training," Inspector Daniel Bragg told reporters.
"He's a very fit looking young man, I can't comment about what was going through his mind but he was certainly very compliant with police.
"They get the impression he wasn't aware of the havoc he wreaked as a consequence of his actions."
Video footage showed the young man in full camouflage clothing wearing a backpack and carrying a fake black semi-automatic machine gun.
Rochedale High School, Redeemer Lutheran College and Rochedale Early Learning Centre were all sent into lockdown while police hunted the man.
Staff at the nursery ushered 75 babies and toddlers into locked rooms with the blinds pulled and urged the children to stay silent while the man was found.
"We stayed in lockdown for about 45 minutes until the police had checked the building and told us it was safe," director Debbie Hines told AAP.
"Parents had got the word on Facebook and I was getting lots of phone calls.
"They were obviously worried and upset but we were able to inform them that their children were safe."
After questioning the 26-year-old at Mt Gravatt, police issued him with a notice to appear at the Holland Park Magistrates Court on December 9 on one count of public nuisance.
